There are many benefits of having a food service at your brewery. Close to 35% of breweries in the U.S. fall under the brewpub category and many of them have restaurants. There are plenty of risks that come with having a food service or restaurant at your brewery, so many craft breweries don't offer such services. But, there can be many perks of having food service at your brewery if you are taking the proper precautions.
Having food trucks at your brewery is a great way to keep patrons satisfied with food without taking on the risk that comes with having a restaurant. Food trucks are gaining popularity at a rapid pace, and developing a friendship with food trucks can bring a lot of foot traffic to your brewery.
Food Truck Relationships
If you plan on building some relationships with food trucks and having them serve at your brewery, you want to be sure that you protect your brewery from any liability exposure that can be caused by the food trucks. Before having a food truck serve at your brewery make sure to have a few things in place:
- A waiver of subrogation for the food trucks workers' compensation
- You want to be added as an additional insured on the business auto and the general liability
- You will need a COI(certificate of insurance) for the food trucks business auto, workers' comp, and general liability
